7 Things To Set Aside For Your Wedding Photographer

Woohoo! It’s your wedding day baby!

You’ve got all your besties with you while its time to get ready for your big day. Your makeup artist starting your makeup in T-minus 30 minutes, your hair stylist is arriving soon, and then your wedding photographer shows up! Hey girl hey! The first thing your wedding photographer is going to say is “Yay happy day—

so excited and thrilled that today is your big day!” Then, they will need to get to work and start taking pictures.

First things first…. detail photos. Give me all the details for this perfect wedding day.

7 Things To Set Aside For Your Wedding Photographer

  1. Jewelry
This can be anything you are wearing on your wedding day. If you have a special piece of jewelry you are not wearing but want in the detail photos, bring it! This is entierly up to you. Remember, this is your day!

    • Earrings, necklace, bracelet, wedding bands, wedding rings, ring box, etc.

  2. Shoes
Yes, I need both your shoes that you are wearing on your wedding day lol. Trust me on this one. So this includes what you are wearing during the ceremony but also, if you are changing shoes, (some people put cute converse or boots on for the reception) add those too!

    • Heels, reception shoes and the groom’s shoes

  3. Scents
If you have a specific perfume picked out for the day, you’ll want to remember what that scent was when looking back on your wedding photos.

    • Perfume and Cologne

  4. Invitation
When sending out your invitations, either send one to your photographer or have an extra printed out to set aside

    • Invitation, envelope, and wax seal stamp

  5. Garter
Before you put this on, set it aside for the detail photos!

  6. Bouquet and Random Greenery
Even if your bouquet is still in a vase, put it to the side because I will use it for some of the detail photos!

    • Wedding Flowers + some greenery from your floral decor. Sometimes you can ask your florist to set aside a couple pieces from any table decor for the photographer. Trust me, they’ll understand what you mean!

  7. Veil
The veil is 90% of the time used in detail photos. I will sometimes use the end of a veil to put on the edge of my detail photos. This varies from wedding to wedding, but put it aside just in case.

I know you have a lot of things running through your mind on your wedding day…

But now you have a quick list of things to put aside for your wedding photographer. This is very helpful for the both of you. Helpful to the bride because she knows everything is put in one place. Helpful to me, as your photographer, to show up and get right to work without bothering you while you are getting ready. Once you have all these things set aside, sit back—relax—and enjoy getting pampered/ready for your beautiful wedding day!
